In order to smoothly expedite your order, here are some general guidelines for preparing your files to submit for production. A high resolution is best to submit, however we can accept native files when prepared to these guidelines. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
- When any images go to the edge of the document, the images must bleed (continue past the edge so there are no white edges once trimmed). Our standard bleed is 1/8" or .125". Trim marks and other marks also need to be recessed 1/8" or .125" to allow for any variations in the production process.
- Our color preferences are as follows:
- Files should be in CMYK and/or spot (PANTONE PMS) colors. If spot colors are to be printed in CMYK, they should be converted prior to sending file.
- 100% black type and other small areas should be set to overprint (not knock out like all other colors & black screens).
- RGB should be converted to CMYK and RGB blacks, when converted, should be changed to Black only.
- PLEASE NOTE: Registration color is only for marks - DO NOT USE INSIDE THE DOCUMENT (the ink will never dry).
- High resolution pictures (300ppi or larger) and vector art (when available) are preferred. Type is best when added in a non-raster program to maintain vector properties (not Photoshop). This will make a huge difference in the printed product. Web files are generally low resolution and not usable for printing.
- Our hope is to create a pleasant and satisfying experience for all involved. If there are any questions, please ask.
